Australian country music star Troy Cassar-Daley is set to wow crowds at the 2012 National Multicultural Festival during this year’s spectacular Indigenous Showcase, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Joy Burch revealed today.
Ms Burch said it was quite a coup to secure Cassar-Daley as part of the festival’s impressive line-up alongside headline act, former Australian Idol alumni Anthony Callea, and ‘Shaddup You Face’ singer Joe Dolce.
“Troy Cassar-Daley’s unique brand of country music and lyrics has endeared him to the Australian community over the past 15 years of his stellar career,” Ms Burch said.
“In March, he will unveil his ninth album called Home. We are hoping he will play one of the songs from it which has already been released and is fast becoming a hit – ‘Country Is’.
“Having him as part of the festival is indeed an honour and we are encouraging everyone to come along to the free Indigenous Showcase concert on February 11 in Garema Place.”
Ms Burch said there was something for everyone at this year’s Festival.
“There will be no shortage of fun activities. If you’re a foodie, we will have kangaroo meat cooking demonstrations that show the best way to sear the various cuts to ensure they remain tender and delicious.
“We will also have sessions on how to whip up meals using a delectable range of bush tucker, as well as dot painting lessons for kids.”
