Joy Burch

Brindabella Electorate

For the 2008 ACT Legislative Assembly election, Brindabella was a five member electorate comprising the district of Tuggeranong (excluding the suburb of Hume), the Woden Valley suburbs of Chifley, Pearce, Torrens and Farrer and the southern remainder of the ACT.

The name "Brindabella" is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "two kangaroo rats". For generations of Canberrans, Brindabella is the name associated with the mountain range which dominates the southern horizon of Canberra City. For more information please visit the Elections ACT website.
